Robert Fischer is an amazing person on a mission. In late May 2014, at the YouLead-Collective (YLC) annual retreat, a member of the YLC stated that Robert will not rest until he is assured that his vision of a young active climate orientated collective taking climate discussions all the way to the top is realised.
Robert is the mastermind behind Project 90’s YouLead-Collective initiative. An initiative which aims to bring the voice of the youth of the Global South to the international climate negotiations. Many people agree that the youth of the Global South are under-represented in the Conference of the Parties (COP) meetings. Robert saw the need and kickstarted this initiative to help fill that gap.
On top of being a mentor and key figure for the YLC, Robert has been critical to Project 90 by 2030’s Policy and Research Programme. For many years he has been working on aspects of policy that relate to energy, electricity, renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate change and pro-poor consideration – just to name a few. Governance has also been one of his key interests and foci. He has been critical in the activities of the Electricity Governance Initiative-SA (EGI-SA).
Sadly for Project 90, Robert’s contract with AGEH has now come to an end. He has spent the past four years in South Africa and prior to this, he worked in Uganda for three and a half years. Robert, his wife and three children are moving back ‘home’ to Sweden and will be solely missed, his contributions have been tremendous. Robert has been an amazing colleague and I know I speak on behalf of all at Project 90 when I say ‘wünschen Ihnen alles Gute’!
